Having owned a few Ninja gadgets, I am sold on this brand and assumed that all things Ninja must be good. Afterall, the apple never falls far from the tree. However, this portable blender kinda disappoint. Not only was the battery not removable, it is also not replacable. The blender is also not powerful enough to blend frozen ingredients most of the time. Also, as it is designed as a portable blender, the blades are attached to the motor base and cannot be removed for cleaning. This inevitably makes cleaning a little more challenging. If you are considering a blender for your smoothies or milk shakes and size and portability are not major concerns, I would highly recommend the ice cream maker instead and use one of the functions as a blender to blend your unfrozen ingredients. I have the Creami and it works very well to make ice cream, smoothies, sorbet, gelato, etc. and could double up as a blender. But if you think it's an overkill, then I would recommend the Ninja Personal Blender, which I also own and brings along for overseas work trips.
