The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

As someone with sensitive skin, I'm always on the lookout for skincare products that promise to deliver gentle yet effective results. Eager to try something new, I recently purchased The Body Shop's Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, drawn in by its promises of purification and a radiant complexion. However, my experience with this product left much to be desired. The first thing that struck me upon opening the jar was the texture of the mask. Packed with what appeared to be coarse bits of charcoal, it felt abrasive to the touch. Despite my initial reservations, I decided to give it a chance, hoping that the results would outweigh any discomfort during application. Unfortunately, my hopes were quickly dashed. Upon applying the mask to my face, I immediately felt a tingling sensation that bordered on discomfort. As I began to massage it into my skin, the rough bits of charcoal felt more like exfoliating grains, exacerbating the sensitivity of my skin rather than providing a soothing experience. Despite following the recommended usage instructions, I found it challenging to leave the mask on for the recommended duration. The tingling sensation persisted, and I couldn't shake the feeling of irritation spreading across my face. After rinsing it off, I was left with skin that felt raw and overly sensitized, far from the promised glow. While I can't speak for those with less sensitive skin, I would caution fellow sensitive-skinned individuals against using this product. Although it may deliver results for those with more resilient skin types, the abrasive texture and intense tingling sensation make it an uncomfortable experience for those prone to sensitivity. In conclusion, while The Body Shop's Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask may work wonders for some, it proved to be a disappointment for me and my sensitive skin. I'll be sticking to gentler formulations in the future, steering clear of products that prioritize exfoliation over soothing ingredients.

Works best after a warm facial cleanse. The mask will harden after a few minutes, and after the wash, it leaves your face feeling really clean 💯

I received a tester size of this mask with purchase and had a chance to use it for few times, It absorbs the oil nicely from the T-zone and has a quite refreshing feeling. I have sensitive skin and my skin could tolerate it. However, I would advise people with sensitive skin to use this with caution. I didn't apply it too far away from my T-zone as I felt it may be too harsh for my dryer areas.

My go to clay mask for blackheads! It has a mintly feel when applied to the skin (giving it a really spa feel), it also has some bigger bits other then the soft clay. After the mask dries, when washing off with water, those bit acts like scrub which helps to futher clean the face. Face feels really clean and fresh from the mintly feel and soft, plus pores are visibly smaller and less black! Product can be abit tricky to apply because of the bits, but its managable. The bottle can last quite long and the product do not dry out easily which is good. Bonus, it has tea tree oil (which actually give the product a strong smell, but i love the smell, also reminds me of spa) which has antimicrobial properties too. Definitely Highly recommended!
