Love the eco message but formulation needs to be improved
5 years agoMinus:
1. I heard that the formulation has been specially altered to be lighter to cater to the Asian market. Indeed that's true. The fragrance was light when I was applying it and my mum could not even detect the fragrance when I came out immediately after the shower. This is too light even for someone like me who doesnt like heady scents.
2. Smells more minty and coconuty than teatree and vetiver. I use teatree shampoo so I know how teatree is supposed to smell like. From the ingredients this bodywash has more coconut oil and coconut acid than the teatree and vetiver oils combined so prob that's why. But I wonder where the mint smell comes from...
3. I understand that glycerin cleansers dont foam as much but I had to use 1.5x to 2x my usual amount. And my usual bodywash is also a glycerin-based derma bodywash. This means I get fewer washes out of the bottle. So it may not be as value for money despite the price point..
Plus:
1. Price point is comparable to its competitor brands that we milennials currently buy from Watsons / Iherb (i cant name them here) although considering price per use may not be as value for money. (See above)
2. Packaging wise unlike other reviewers here im happy that it has a flip top cap instead of a pump, cos usually pumps dont get recycled due to the components inside (like metal springs). The bottle is made of recycled plastic, but nowadays many brands do that too. Perhaps Unilever can up the ante and launch refillable stations for Love Beauty & Planet at select stores instead? We ur target audience really dont mind reusing ur bottles to store and refill ur products :D That will definitely help us distinguish ur brand from the other "eco" brands out there and make us believe u are genuine and sincere in saving the planet. ;)
