I was excited when I got the Ninja Double Stack XL. At the same time, I was a little worried about the size, would it be too big for my kitchen? The idea of having a double-layer air fryer that could cook more food at once sounded amazing and very convenient for busy days. When it arrived, my first impression was that it felt very solid and sturdy. I actually expected it to be taller, but to my surprise, it wasn’t. Standing next to my mini air fryer, it didn’t look that much bigger in height, which made me relief! However, it is definitely longer and protrudes out a bit, taking up more counter space in front. For my first try, I used it to cook chicken nuggets and fries, a last-minute picnic invite left me with little prep time. I was impressed that I could fit both nuggets and fries into one basket. I cooked them at 180°C for 22 minutes and gave them a shake halfway through at the 10-minute mark. I did notice that the heat wasn't evenly distributed, food at the back didn’t cook as well as the front and middle. Since I was rushing, I decided to use both trays separately to speed things up and it worked better. I added another 4 minutes, and although the food came out a little dry, it was still quite decent. One thing I appreciated right away was how quiet it was compared to my mini fryer, even the notification beep was softer. I also love that Tray 1 and Tray 2 can be used independently with different functions, temperatures, and timings. However, there’s one drawback: if you accidentally choose the wrong cooking function (for example, roast instead of air fryer), you can’t just switch functions directly. You have to cancel and restart the entire process, which means re-entering the time and temperature. It would be much better if switching functions could be done more easily. Overall, I think the Ninja Double Stack XL does offer convenience, especially for cooking different foods at once or when you're in a rush. That said, as someone who’s used to cooking with a pan and wok (typical of Asian households), I find the air fryer works more as a complementary appliance than a main one. With its large size, it does take up a good amount of space, so it might not be ideal unless you plan to use it often. I look forward to experimenting with other cooking functions it offers.

It was my first time trying out a air fryer and the task for it was to reheat a frozen fish right out of the freezer. The air fryer was intuitive to use and it didn't take long for me to figure out how to use it. The end result was a moist fish meat beneath with a super crispy skin that's worth of asmr! & I wasn't even recording using any special equipment. It was certainly a breeze to use it and having an extra drawer to heat up other items at the same time's a really useful feature to have! No more waiting for the next dish to finish whilst the first fish cool. Here's to 4 warm dishes served warm at the same time!

Compact but fully functional product. Both layers allow me to be able to make as much food as possible in a short period of time. It's also good for reheating food (especially like egg tarts) with the one of the plates provided which has a handle-like thing. Somehow with that, even when the food is placed on parchment paper, the bottom of the food is able to be heated as well. It's been useful being able to eat warm and crispy food like egg tarts and atas bread in the mornings. It has a small form factor which allows it to fit in small kitchen spaces

Overall very good quality, convenient to use and worth the investment to upgrade from a usual airfryer. Packaging and physical features: The product came well packaged in a cloth wrap and a recipe book. It is also space efficient considering the footprint vs the space available for cooking with its 2 drawers, both with a rack each to double cooking space. It fits nicely in my appliance shelf for direct use for cooking. Intuitive and easy to follow buttons for settings. Easy and efficient cooking: It is a “level up” from the usual airfryer. Not only does it have 2 drawers, the rack in each drawer allows for another layer for cooking. With these 4 layers of cooking, 4 types of food can easily be cooked at the same time. Each drawer is large and deep enough. A complete meal preparation with vegetable, meat and even a dessert is made possible. For example, you can roasted vegetables at the bottom of one drawer and meat on the rack. An additional meat or side can also be cooked at the same time in the other drawer, along with a baked dessert. There are also many functions such as max-crisp and dehydration. Air-frying fried food is also more uniformly cooked and crispy when placed on the rack provided. I have not tried the dehydration mode but it is possible to dehydrate fruits and vegetables for some healthy snacks. What can be improved: Some food needs to be flipped around or shake up a bit halfway through cooking. If the rack is being used, it is not easy to shake the drawer or reach later under the rack to flip the food. Will have to remove the rack, then toss or flip the food. It would be useful to include a pair of silicon grip or tongs to facilitate that.
